Pixel Buds A-Series are here, and they look and sound very similar to the previously released Pixel Buds 2. Buds 2 were released for $179 and is now selling for less than that. But now, with the new Pixel Buds A-Series, instead of adding new features like active noise cancellation, they have removed some. Now, there must be questions in your mind about why the new earbuds have fewer features. Because they only come at the cost of $99. Pixel Buds A-Series where “a” stands for affordability. The drop in price from $179 to $99 is the new talk of the town and bringing a smile to the faces of Android users.

What’s different in the Pixel Buds A-Series?

There aren’t many major changes, just that the new Pixel Buds A-Series are 20% lighter than the Pixel Buds 2, which were already lightweight. There are two different types of colors introduced first, the White and the second one Dark Olive color. In Pixel Buds 2, the insides of the EarPods were matte, whereas the new Pixel Buds A-Series has a glossy finish.

The other change that can be visible on the EarPods is the nozzle. In the earlier model, they were made of metal instead of plastic, but they are made up of plastic in the new version, which makes them more durable for the long haul.

Both the new Pixel Buds A-Series and Pixel Buds 2 are equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 and also are powered by a new chipset. After the release of Pixel Buds 2, there we few complaints by the customers of the connectivity issue. But that issue was addressed by Google with constant upgrades. Now Google learned from its mistakes and fixed all those issues in their new EarPods. And you will find no connectivity issue with the new Pixel Buds A-Series.

If we talk about the sound, both Pixel Buds 2 and the new Pixel Buds A-Series are very similar to each other. To get the best out of the new Pixel Buds A-Series in the sound. You need a tight seal which will be easy with the three, including ear tips.

But the battery life is not so good for EarPods with no noise cancellation. The new Pixel Buds A-Series can only go up to 5 hours at medium volume levels. Also, you can get an extra 19 hours from the charging case.

There is no multipoint pairing that allows you to connect to more than one device at a given point in time.

New Pixel Buds A-Series: Final thoughts

For us, the new Pixel Buds A-Series is a bit different. As a next-gen EarPods, it has fewer features from its previous model. But we think this is where Google played it smart. To grow its customers, this is where it has to play so that more people can know what Google can do. In the $100 price range, there is also Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus which is still holding a firm grip. On the market even though it’s been a while since they have released. Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus has a good quality sound and excellent battery life and the base which is just a little better than the new Pixel Buds A-Series.

So, we don’t know for sure where the new Pixel Buds A-Series in the market or they will be enough for their competitors. But when you factor in things like the price of $99 and hands-free Google assistant and a solid design. The new Pixel Buds A-Series can certainly hold its own in the market. But let’s see how it does once it is released.
