Apple TV 4K: New Features in Original Remote With Better Improvisation

Newly introduced feature in remote shows circles around the original one.

Apple released the latest streaming device, which is the second generation of Apple TV 4K. The latest streaming device is available in the store, which started on Friday. The new device starts with the price rate of $179, which is similar to the price of its predecessor and also offers many features that are similar to the previous one. The new version is offered in a black box. The newly arrived streaming device is provided with some of the notable developments, which is revamped Siri remote and processor with faster speed.

The remote is known to be a larger upgrade in comparison to the track-pad-driven controller and also a controversial one. After using it for a whole day, here are some of the takes on Apple TV 4K and its remote with updated features.

Can we say that the most awaited moment arrived with what we needed?

Apple TV fans showed their enthusiasm at the time of the first release and especially about the remote. The remote came with designs including sleek, shiny, and slippery track-pad, which turned out to be the biggest downfall. While using the older remote version, it was pretty difficult for me as well to navigate the various tasks, even the simple ones. Due to the sensitivity of the track-pad, it created problems over controlling the menu for movies, TV shows, apps, and even smaller swiping action harder than it should be. Well, this was the old issue needing improvisation.

The upgraded remote comes with the Apple TV set and is also available to purchase separately at the cost of $59. The newer version works with the old Apple TV with the same process as the newer ones. Apple has replaced the older trackpad with the newer one called ‘Clickpad.’ It is designed with a circular shape controller, which combines the directional buttons with the touchpad, and you can click the directional buttons.

It does not matter if it was utilized for just a few hours. It was enough to experience directional controls with a button-based design, which is great. Also, there is one more factor, which is appreciable, and that is not eliminating the functions of the touchpad, as it is quite useful to easily go through any lists and playing games like Apple Arcade. In case there are any touch haters, there is a piece of happy news for them, as Apple has included disabling the touchpad feature in the remote and device section given on the ‘Settings menu.

In addition, the new remote ‘Clickpad’ is designed with three extra buttons for the mute, back, and to control the power of your TV. In the previous remote design, the Siri button was located on the front, and now it is shifted to the right side just like the location given on the iPhones. On the contrary, Roku’s updated Voice Remote Pro with a $30 price rate is designed with a microphone that is always listening, which is not the same as Apple’s upgraded Siri remote. In order to make it work, you will need to press the button and hold it.

You will need Apple’ lightning charger to charge the new remote just like the old one and comes with a cable included in the Apple TV 4K box. However, it would be cool if we could find a feature to find it while it disappears in the sheets or in between the sofa.

What’s inside the black box?

While the remote got an upgrade, the box remains identical to the black puck like its previous model. No new ports are included, and the rear of the device includes ports for HDMI-out, Ethernet, and power. Setting up the device was pretty easy and quick, as iPhone did not delay recognizing it and showed up to sync the iCloud account and set the Wi-Fi problem to the Apple TV. To experience the new upgrade was great, and further information will be announced at Apple’s WWDC event, which is set to happen in early June. With the WWDC event, more will come to knowledge about the support of developers regarding high-rated apps and gaming apps as well.
